Professor Emerita Beasley Featured in Women’s History Month Events

Dr. Maurine Beasley can be seen in “No Job for a Woman,” a documentary about women war reporters of World War II. She will be part of a screening and panel discussion at the Intrepid Museum in New York City on Wednesday, March 9.

On Sunday, March 27, Dr. Beasley will be at the FDR Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park, New York for a book talk on her latest publication, “Eleanor Roosevelt: Transformative First Lady.”

Maurine Beasley, former education editor of the Kansas City (Mo.) Star and former staff writer for The Washington Post, is a journalism historian who specializes in women’s portrayal and participation in journalism. Her particular focus is Washington women journalists, including their coverage of First Ladies. Her most recent book is “Eleanor Roosevelt: Transformative First Lady.”
